A free, faith-based men's recovery home where lives are transformed through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation."
2 Corinthians 5:17
Who We Are
New Beginnings in Christ is a Christ-centered recovery home for men suffering from chemical dependency. As one of the few treatment centers in America available at no cost to the men or their families, NBIC rejoices in what the Lord accomplishes through the generosity of our supporters.
Founded in 2004 by Donald Atkinson — a fully recovered alcoholic himself — NBIC has grown from 5 men to over 60 today. Donald went home to be with the Lord in December 2021, but his vision lives on. We have witnessed over 2,000 men come through the program and experience the redemptive power, goodness, and love of God.
Far beyond recovery itself, we regularly witness the miracles of saved marriages, children reunited with healthy dads, and mothers who can sleep at night knowing their sons are safe.
Our Foundation
"Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31
The Program
Every morning begins with devotion and church service. Men attend 17+ weekly meetings, building a daily prayer life and time in the Word.
Bible study and Alcoholics Anonymous are essential parts of recovery. Jesus Christ is the Higher Power in all 12-step material.
Men train 40 hours per week, learning carpentry, farming, woodworking, and other trades — building discipline and self-worth.
Living in community with other men in recovery creates deep bonds of accountability, brotherhood, and mutual encouragement.
We witness saved marriages, children reunited with healthy dads, and families made whole through the power of Christ.
NBIC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. There is no cost to the men or their families. The program is funded entirely by generous donors.

Our Founders
Donald Atkinson founded NBIC in 2004 with a vision to help men find freedom through Jesus Christ. A fully recovered alcoholic himself, he gave everything to this ministry until he went home to be with the Lord in December 2021. What started with 5 men has grown into a ministry serving over 60 men at a time — a legacy that continues to transform lives.
Donald and JoAnna receive no salary from NBIC. They give everything — their time, their home, and their hearts — so that men can be free. Their dedication is a living testimony to the transforming power of God's grace.
